The public is invited to join in commemorating the end of the American Civil War.

From April 11-19th, visit a variety of events.

April 11: 2pm, Fort Moultrie - Free outdoor concert- 8th Regiment Band
April 13-19: Fort Sumter - Dramatic lighting of Ft. Sumter
April 14: Fort Sumter - 150th Anniversary of US Flag Re-raising
April 18: 10am & 1:30pm, Historic Dock St. Theater - Free public lectures with distinguished historians Annette Gordon-Reed, Eric Foner, David Blight, Emory Thomas, Tom Brown, Blain Roberts & Ethan Kytle
April 19: 3pm, Hampton Park - Public Memorial Service honoring Civil War dead
April 19: 7pm, White Point Gardens - Free public concert by School of the Arts & Burke HS bands performing Lincoln Portrait by Aaron Copland
