Folly Beach in 3 Days Day One

Folly Beach is your oyster. This eclectic beach town, affectionately referred to as "The Edge of America," is full of surprises and we invite you to experience each and every one.

Check In

Check in to Tides, Folly Beach's only oceanfront hotel which sits in the middle of the action. The hotel's bright and beautiful rooms offer panoramic views of the Atlantic and its beachside pool offers an ocean alternative.

Seafood & Suds

Since the 1930s, beachgoers have long flocked to Folly Beach's iconic pier and boardwalk. Pier 101 - the latest addition to Folly's dining scene - is a vintage throwback to carefree beach days through the decades. Expect cold drinks, fried seafood and live music that might inspire a shag or two.

Sup's Up

Cruise through the Folly River on a standup paddleboard led by the experts at SUP Safari. Journey past tall green marsh grass for a glimpse into Charleston's rich ecosystem, and luck is on your side, spy a pod of dolphins in the distance.

Sips With A View

Take a break from sunbathing and belly up at BLU's beachside bar, where frozen drinks are plentiful and views of the Atlantic are sweeping. Return for dinner inside its oceanfront dining room for fresh local seafood and other light fare.

Folly Beach in 3 Days Day Two

Wake to another sun-soaked day and gear up for a heart-pumping ride in the waves, lots of local catch and the reward of ice cold refreshment as the night draws to a close.

Gone Surfin'

Learn to surf from the pros and native Charlestonians with Charleston Salt Surf Lessons. Each instructor was born and raised near the ocean, meaning their lessons are tailor-made to suit Folly's tides, waves and current.

Shellfish With A Southern Twist

Consistently named one of South Carolina's best seafood spots, the Folly Beach Crab Shack is a true institution. A shrimp basket and order of crab legs with melted butter are almost mandatory, as is sipping on a glass of sweet tea as you enjoy a leisurely lunch.

Go Fish

Find a perch at the pier, set high above the shore, to test your luck at saltwater fishing. Drop in a line and reel in catches like redfish and flounder as waves crash below the 23-foot-high landmark. Linger into the evening to catch a Moonlight Mixer, a once-monthly summertime tradition.

Relaxed Respite

Named after Folly's prized surfing spot, The Washout takes residence in a former Esso filling station on Center Street. Just like its namesake, the restaurant offers a relaxed vibe and an ocean breeze. Drop in for a drink on the covered patio for a respite from the sun.

Aquatic Adventures Await

Embark on a guided tour of the "Edge of America" with Charleston Outdoor Adventures. Glide through marshes, creeks, tidal flats and barrier islands where wildlife like osprey, wading birds and sea turtles await your visit.

Lunch Like A Local

After paddling up an appetite, Rita's Seaside Grill offers the promise of a great burger and cold beer. Its colorful, shaded patio is perfect for the whole family. Settle in for an afternoon of relaxation.

Afternoon On The Water

Shake the sand from your towel and spend one last afternoon on the water. Zoom through the waves on jet skis, parasail through Folly's crystal blue skies, or put your newly-learned surfing skills to good use. Ask The Tides' staff for help arranging your send-off adventure.

Lowcountry Boil

Venture to Morris Island with Tideline Tours and round out your trip with a last meal of epic proportions, a Lowcountry Boil. Indulging in this one-pot meal of shrimp, corn, sausage and potatoes alongside your travel mates will seal this vacation's fate as near-perfect.
