The Local Palate, in partnership with Breakthru Beverage, welcomes the world's top whiskey ambassadors to Charleston for the fifth annual Whiskey After Dark on Wednesday, October 17, 2018. Sample more than one hundred whiskeys, including bourbons and scotches, as well as craft beer and wine at the Cedar Room in downtown Charleston.
This year, the event will host some of the South's best pitmasters-because what pairs better with firewater than a little smoke? Feast on old-fashioned whole hog bbq and a slew of sides from the James Beard Foundation's 2018 Best Chef: Southeast, Rodney Scott of Rodney Scott's BBQ, Sam Jones of Sam Jones BBQ, and Griffin Bufkin of Southern Soul Barbeque.
Doors open for general admission at 7:30 pm for an all-inclusive oak and smoke celebration. VIP ticket holders are invited to arrive early at 6:30 pm for a private tasting of top-shelf whiskeys, including Johnnie Walker Blue and Jack Daniel's Sinatra Select.
A portion of proceeds will benefit Charleston Animal Society.
