West Ashley United, a non-profit organization formed in fall 2015 as a grassroots effort by three long-time West Ashley residents who share a mutual passion to enhance our West Ashley neighborhoods and businesses through a spirit of ownership and citizen involvement, is proud to announce a community celebration of the rich history of West Ashley where Charles Town, the City that later became Charleston was founded in April 1670.
With the support of City of Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg and Charleston County Councilmember Colleen Condon, the City of Charleston and Charleston County will issue resolutions proclaiming Saturday, April 23 as "West Ashley Day" inCharleston, South Carolina.
In celebration of this historic occasion, Citadel Mall is proud to host the West Ashley United Community Day Festival on April 23 from 10AM - 4PM, presented by West Ashley United and Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union. City of Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg and Charleston County Councilmember Colleen Condon will be in attendance at the West Ashley United event for the official announcements.
