This Veteran's Day weekend, experience the Joseph Manigault House as it was while it served as a USO post during World War II. The house became a place for enlisted soldiers and the home front workforce to sleep, enjoy meals, write home to their families, attend dances, and play games.
Join us on November 11 for a special all-day USO event where uniforms, clothing, photographs, and personal letters will be on view. Visitors are welcome to dance to 1940s music or play horseshoes and badminton in the garden. Children are invited to start their own victory garden and learn about rationing. Instead of our joining our regular 30 minute guided tours, guests will have the chance to tour the house at their own pace. Docents will be available throughout the house for information and questions.
Free admission for all Veterans and Active Military on this day!
