Project OKURASE (pronounced "Oh-krah-say" or Project "OK" for short) is pleased to announce that our highly anticipated music and arts festival will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at the Navy Yard at Noisette in North Charleston. The event, a family-oriented, eco-friendly festival, will feature a variety of international, regional and local musical acts, children's area, arts and crafts, African bazaar, dancing and drumming workshops, plus much more. For all you party goers, sit around for a drum-thumping after-party featuring some of the areas more talented musicians. It will be a jam session, you won't want to miss!
The sole purpose of the event is to raise awareness about Project OKURASE's work in Ghana to save children from the HIV/AIDS crisis in Africa. 100% of the proceeds from this event will go to purchasing a clean, safe water treatment system for the Nkabom Center in Okurase, Ghana.
