The Initials of the Earth - Roberto Diago's new installation
Event Details
Current exhibiting artist Roberto Diago will visit Charleston from March 1 - 3 for a gallery talk and classroom visits. While in Charleston, he will create a brand new installation for his exhibition, "La recordada historia" in the Halsey Institute's galleries.
The installation, entitled "The Initials of the Earth" will be comprised of metal buckets, water, cartons, and canvas.
Join the Halsey Institute staff and fellow gallery visitors to observe Roberto Diago as he creates a new artwork for Charleston. The galleries are open from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM and admission is always free.

Born in 1971 in Havana, Roberto Diago's work is often a direct criticism of racism in Cuba and explores the roots and role of slavery in Cuban history and culture.
