The Indigo Girl Author, Natasha Boyd, Lecture and Reception
Event Details
The Indigo Girl author, Natasha Boyd, joins us Sunday, October 7 at 2 pm
The Indigo Girl author Natasha Boyd speaks at Drayton Hall's new Education Center on Charleston's native Eliza Lucas Pinckney's influence on her book, The Indigo Girl. The Indigo Girl is based on historical documents, including Eliza's letters. This is a historical fiction account of how a teenage girl produced indigo dye, which became one of the largest exports out of South Carolina, an export that laid the foundation for the incredible wealth of several Southern families both in the Charleston area and afield.
Free to members (Friends of Drayton Hall), please RSVP.
