The 64th Annual Carolopolis Awards and Preservation Party

On Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the historic Riviera Theatre, the Preservation Society of Charleston will host the 64th Annual Carolopolis Awards presented by Belmond Charleston Place and Carriage Properties.

Celebrating the very best of preservation in Charleston and expanding on its tradition of recognizing exemplary efforts in the preservation, the Society will present several exterior preservation awards to properties throughout the Charleston area.

In 1953, the Carolopolis Award program was created to recognize outstanding achievement in historic preservation. The presentation of a Carolopolis Award plaque recognizes extraordinary private and public efforts to maintain the historic character of Charleston and the Lowcountry. To date, the Preservation Society has presented more than 1,400 awards in recognition of such achievement. In 2016, the Society introduced new awards for the preservation of historic interiors as well as compatible new construction. The introduction of an interior Carolopolis was the first award to celebrate and promote the better treatment of public historic interiors.

Advance tickets are $50 for members and $75 for guests and may be purchased at
www.preservationsociety.org. Ticket price increases on January 18, 2018. 100% of ticket sales directly benefits the Society's vital mission of recognizing, protecting, and advocating for the Lowcountry's historic places.
