A Celebration of Lowcountry Cuisine

Description: The Greater Charleston Restaurant Association hosts the 28th Annual Taste of Charleston. Significant changes have been made to this year's festival. For the first time, the Taste of Charleston will be comprised of three separate events spanning three days.

Friday, October 10th: The Taste Iron Chef Competition
Culinary Institute of Charleston (Palmer Campus Downtown)
The competition will introduce the Culinary Institute of Charleston's new Palmer Campus with a competition that pits some of Charleston‚s finest, nationally renowned chefs in a head-to-head culinary battle.

Saturday, October 11th: Taste of the Arts
Downtown Charleston Art Galleries
This event will combine Lowcountry Art with Culinary Art by giving guests the opportunity to peruse the talents of local artists while sampling food items from Charleston‚s finest restaurants.

Sunday, October 12th: Taste of Charleston Main Event
Boone Hall Mt. Pleasant, SC
The event includes the legendary Waiters' Race, the inaugural food and wine pairing, cooking demonstrations, entertainment from the Eastcoast Party Band, the Kids‚ Corner, and for the first time the taste will offer a wider selection of specialty and import beers to compliment the casual restaurant cuisine.

Benefiting: Ronald McDonald House, Hollings Cancer Center, Charleston County Science Resource Center, and College of Charleston and Trident Technical College‚s scholarship funds.
