Surgery and Medical Advances During the American Civil War with JP Saleeby, MD
Event Details
Most people know that during the War Between the States, McLeod Plantation was used as a hospital by both North and South — there are still traces of blood stains on the floor! To illustrate what would have taken place at a Civil War hospital and the progress made in medicine during that time period, the Friends of McLeod are sponsoring a presentation by JP Saleeby, MD, an authority on Civil War medicine. He will speak on "Surgery and Medical Advances During the American Civil War" on Thursday, June 16, at 7 p.m. at the DNR auditorium at Fort Johnson.
This event is free and open to the public. As always, donations are appreciated.
