Event Details

On Saturday, August 26th, St. James Gate Irish Pub on Folly Beach will host their version of Puck Fair, a traditional Irish festival in which a wild goat is caught and crowned "King Puck". In the Folly Beach version of the festival, St. James Gate will partner with Pet Helpers to host Pup Fair, an afternoon celebration for people and their furry friends where one lucky dog will be crowned “King Pup”.

Starting at 1:00pm on National Dog Day, Pup Fair will feature food and drink specials including Wolf Hound Punch, where all proceeds will be donated directly to local non-profit, Pet Helpers. The event will also feature a specialty hot dog menu and live music with Josh Taylor at 6:00pm. All dogs are welcome to enter the contest and the winning dog’s owner will receive a $100 gift certificate to St. James Gate.

St. James Gate opened in the Summer of 2015 and has since become Folly Beach's premier Irish pub. Serving traditional Irish fare and fresh seafood, their claim to the best pint of Guinness in Charleston holds true. They are open seven days a week from 11:00am-2:00am.
