It's the most wonderful time of the year and Mount Pleasant Towne Centre, Charleston's premier shopping and dining destination, will ring in the holidays with its biggest event, Lights Up, live and in person again this season. On Friday, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m., Belk Drive will shine bright with a spectacular laser light show, plenty of activities and the lighting of the 40-foot Christmas tree.
Live performances by East Cooper Baptist Church Choir & Orchestra and Gravel Road, a bluegrass band with a modern twist, will sound throughout the Towne Centre all evening long. The event will be hosted by Brian Cleary of 92.5 Kickin' Country, and guests have the chance to win prizes from a variety of participating stores.
Camp Rise Above, an organization that provides life-changing camp experiences to children with serious illnesses, disabilities and challenges; will be onsite selling Christmas tree wands and Christmas bulb necklaces so all guests can shine alongside the giant tree. All proceeds will directly benefit Camp Rise Above, who creates customizable programs that teach campers to overcome obstacles and grow in their confidence and capabilities. Lights Up is sponsored by Roper St. Francis Mount Pleasant Hospital and AV Connections.
