Every year for the past two decades, Charleston Horticultural Society has built a reputation for hosting one of the most unique and popular garden tours in the Lowcountry of South Carolina with our Gardens for Gardeners Tour. The tour has always featured remarkable and charming private gardens of Charleston residents in different area of the Lowcountry with the focus on gardens mostly tended to exclusively by the homeowners themselves. Past tours have featured gardens on Kiawah Island, Seabrook Island, Riverland Terrace, Mt. Pleasant and Daniel Island.
This year's tour, which was cancelled last year due to Hurricane Matthew, focuses on the eclectic and beach friendly gardens of beautiful Sullivan's Island. In addition to being a tour focused on the beauty and majesty of coastal gardening, this tour will also serve as an educational opportunity, illustrating to visitors the unexpected changes that occur to gardens on a barrier island and the challenges of gardening at the mercy of mother nature and the sea.
As a visitor to these gardens you will witness the trials and tribulations that coastal gardeners encounter on and regular basis and enjoy the endless and beautiful results of their versatility!
Ticket prices: $30 for CHS Members and $35 for Guests
