Garden Concert Series: Amythyst Kiah and the Marshgrass Mamas

The Gibbes is partnering with the Charleston Music Hall to bring outstanding live music performances to the Lenhardt Garden. Bring a picnic (adult beverages permitted) and a lawn chair and arrive early to find a spot-or reserve one of our premium tables-and enjoy a plein-air performance under the setting sun. Doors open at 5:30PM, concert begins at 6:30PM. Tickets include Museum admission.

A professed Southern Gothic, alt-country blues singer/songwriter based in Johnson City, TN, Amythyst Kiah's commanding stage presence is only matched by her raw and powerful vocals-a deeply moving, hypnotic sound that stirs echoes of a distant and restless past.

The Marshgrass Mamas are a bevy of Johns Island gals whose musical roots stem from traditional bluegrass and Appalachian old-time. Band members are Cary Ann Hearst on lead guitar, Kristen Meierer on doghouse bass, Dee Payne on banjo, Gina Perez and Chandler Marburg on fiddles, and Lauren Bevins Cahill on mandolin. The Marshgrass Mamas are known for beautiful harmonies mixed with ridiculousness, and are always entertaining on stage while stomping out their own signature sound.
