Come Grow With Us is an educational experience hosted by the Gaillard Garden Center for gardeners of all ages and abilities. The classes are separated into 5 different age groups and will be held once a month.
Acorns- "It all Starts With A Seed"
Come where almost every plant starts out its life- As A Seed! Learn about where seeds come from, how they work, and how they can be planted to continue the plant's life cycle.
This class has a demonstration and visual aids to help your young ones begin their gardening exploration. It finishes with an activity for them to bring home.
Sprouts- "Waxing Camellia Blossoms"
This fun craft will keep Camellia blossoms looking fresh and just picked for weeks. Make sure to wear your crafting clothes as this can get messy.
Saplings- "Soil and Its Properties"
Discover the physical Properties of Soil, how it is formed, and how it helps your plants grow!
Oaks and Adults- "Camellia Propagation and History"
Bob Williams, a long time volunteer at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens will demonstrate the art of Grafting and speak about other Propagation methods. Next Dan Clayton of Paradise Plants Plus in Colombia, SC will talk about the history of Camellias. Finally, Kate White, the head of the Horticulture Department at Magnolia will lead the group on a personalized tour of the camellia collection. Garden Admission is included with this ticket.
