A native of Quebec, Canada, jazz pianist/composer Chantale Gagné began studying music at the age of 8. In 2005, she studied with jazz piano legend Kenny Barron and realized jazz had become her deepest calling. On May 27, the Chantale Gagné Quartet will play the music of Horace Silver, one of the most popular jazz pianists of all time. Horace was a popular member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers and steeped in the Hard-Bop jazz tradition.
