Boone Hall Plantation is excited to announce that the African American Settlement Community Historic Commission has put together a groundbreaking Black History Month celebration that will be presented for the first time and showcased in the newly renovated Gin House throughout the month of February.
The exciting lineup includes celebration displays by churches, schools, military, community organizations, descendant achievements and accomplishments, a Weekend Speaker Series that will feature seven high profile guest speakers, Settlement Community Panel Discussions, A Taste Of Gullah Mount Pleasant style, and other features.
Black History Month events are included with regular admission to Boone Hall Plantation at no additional charge. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the 1904 Long Point School restoration project.
