The Gibbes Museum of Art will host the second annual Art Charleston from April 26-30, 2023. The visual arts festival will inspire and challenge participants to question, to explore and recognize that Art is the Reason. The five-day celebration on the arts includes: Art of Design (April 26), a seated luncheon in the museum’s European-style garden with a lively presentation from an expert in the world of design; Gibbes on the Street (April 27) an evening of live music, dancing, open bar and delicious bites from Charleston’s top chefs on Charleston’s iconic Meeting Street; Beverly McIver in Conversation (April 28), a lunch and interview with artist Beverly McIver celebrating the opening of her exhibition at the Gibbes; Live from the Gibbes (April 28), a not-to-be-missed musical performance by Grammy-nominated Ranky Tanky in the museum’s garden; Artistic Visionaries Panel (April 29), a panel discussion highlighting artists working on the edge and leading the way; and Artisan Fair (April 30), a shopping event with a curated selection of artist-vendors and skilled makers.
