Event Details

It's been thirty years since a new group called Arrested Development slammed the gangsta dominated world of hip hop with defiant lyrics of hope. Apparently the world was ready as The group won two Grammy Awards in 1993 for Best New Artist (the first hip hop artist ever to win the award) and Best Rap Performance for their anthemic prayer-like hit song, Tennessee. They were also named Band of the Year by Rolling Stone Magazine.

With the success of the single Mr Wendal, Arrested Development brought the issue of homelessness to the forefront and donated half of the royalty earnings to the National Coalition of the Homeless People Everyday was also a top hit from the album, reaching the #2 spot on the Hip Hop Charts

A few months later, the group was approached by film director Spike Lee to compose a song for his upcoming biopic based on the life of Malxom X. The group then recorded "Revolution", which appeared on the oldies-dominated Soundtrack for the film, as well as the second half of its closing credits when the film was released in 1992.

Now, they're here in Charleston to play you all their hit songs along with an opening set from DJ Natty Heavy and an opening performance from Matt Monday. DJ YNOT will provide the afterparty entertainment.

Tickets for what we anticipate to be a sold out show will go on sale the morning of Thursday, April 19th with a ONE DAY ONLY ticket launch sale where 50 tickets will be made available for just $20 each with promo code: Arrested.

General Admission tickets will go on sale the morning of Friday, April 20th for $30 each.
