A Night at the Library

Event Details

A living NASA astronaut visited the Charleston County Public Library last Summer at their Calhoun Street branch. The visit was so popular that CCPL just had to bring him back for another visit. This time going to the Tri County area libraries where children who don't have a way to get downtown could experience the magic. The only problem was it was not in their programming budget and would not be possible. Within one phone call to the Library Foundation of the Lowcountry and a unanimous board vote, children did experience a living astronaut at their libraries throughout the area. It is unique out of the box programming like this that the foundation provides.

Join the Library Foundation of the Lowcountry celebrating the grand opening and completion of the Charleston County Public Library's Wando Library at Carolina Park Library in Mount Pleasant. Guests are invited to learn more about the foundation and immerse themselves in a completely interactive evening featuring your favorite books that will literally come to life.

A full premium bar, martinis, wine, champagne and signature cocktails perfectly paired with each food offering will be available throughout the library.

As party goers explore the new library starting from the children's section, to young adults, and culminating in the adult reading section they will quickly discover this is not the old and ordinary library of year's past. From digital media studios to 3D printers it's a whole new day at the library.
