The 21st Annual McElveen Race For The ARK cares deeply about your health and safety and that of our entire community. For this reason, we will be modifying the format of the Race For The ARK to allow for the event to carry on virtually. We had hoped we would be able to host our 21st annual event, but due to the unknown future, we feel our best and safest option is to have a virtual race.

Although several events and activities are being paused, Alzheimer's unfortunately is not. Now, more than ever, we need to raise awareness for The ARK. Grab your co-workers, friends and family and let's raise funds for families living with Alzheimer's and related dementia, run/walk a 5K and have fun while maintaining social distance guidelines.


The race is set for Saturday, August 22. It is now a virtual race. The ARK provides comprehensive support services to families living with Alzheimer's or related dementia.

This USATF-certified race includes a 5K run/walk and 1-mile fun run. The 5K begins at 7:45 a.m. and the 1-mile fun run kicks off at 8:45 a.m.

Through Aug. 20, registration is $35 with T-shirt for the 5K run/walk and $25 for without T-shirt and $10 for the 1-mile fun run or $30 for a family of four (without T-shirts).

Registration and packet pickup will be noon to 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 21, and from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. on race day in St. Luke's Fellowship Hall. During packet pickup and on race day, registration for the 5K is $40. For the 1-mile fun run, it's $15 or $35 for a family of four (without T-shirts).

Businesses can create teams of five or more as part of the Corporate Challenge. The winning team (combined best times) receives a hand-crafted traveling trophy to display at its business or organization for one year. The cost is $350 and the deadline is July 20.
