Step back in time and with a cultural immersion experience that explores different aspects of plantation life, including African American crafts and crop cultivation.
Craftworkers demonstrate the skills practiced by slaves as they prepared the antebellum plantation for harvest time. Different aspects of 18th and 19th century plantation life will be explored: Domestic Skills, African American culture including Gullah Storytelling, Low Country Foodways and the Plantation Natural Environment.
