Explore History Workshops take place on different Saturday mornings and include a focused tour of the house and a number of craft activities and games based on the month’s theme. This program is for children ages 5-12 and cost varies per event.
June 13: Crafty Kids 10am-12pm
Children had to make their own fun in the 19th century without modern technology, so what did they do? Come to the Nathaniel Russell house to explore old toys, play games, and make different crafts from the antebellum period.
July 25: American Girl Tea Party 10am-12pm
Calling all American Girls! You are cordially invited to come to the Nathaniel Russell House for a tea party hosted by a real American girl, Alicia Russell. Bring your favorite American Girl Doll or any doll and tour Alicia’s 1808 house and enjoy tea and cookies in her garden. After, Alicia will show her guests her favorite games to play and teach them to make a few crafts.
