They are legendary for their patience and in the eyes of many Citadel fans and dog lovers, for their beauty. In 2014 Princess Daisy took the crown. Soon dozens of bulldogs will be primping and preening as they compete for the top spot in the 5th Annual Beautiful Bulldog Contest.
The Beautiful Bulldog Contest will showcase nine puppies, two of which are from Boo X’s litter, 25 dogs ranging from two to 11 years old with the farthest one traveling from Ontario, Canada. In all, the bulldogs will represent 11 different cities across 2 states and Canada.
This is the first year that the competition will include the Puppies in Training Classification since it’s never too early to prepare for stardom. Other categories include: Best Smiler, Best Coat and Markings, Best Physique, Best Costume, Miss Congeniality, Mr. Personality, and Most Beautiful Bulldog. The Citadel Football Association sponsors the event each year to support living mascots and also applies some of the funds raised to its scholarship program.
Entry fee: $50 per dog...limited to 40 English Bulldogs
