Artist and Chairman of the Lowcountry Rice Culture Project joins Middleton Place for a special event celebrating Carolina Gold rice.
Jonathan Green is known for his “narrative realism” approach to painting and captures the rich cultural history of the Gullah community in which he was raised.
Green will mingle with guests around the Butterfly Lakes during a special Wine Stroll Wednesday, May 21 from 6:00 p.m - 8:00 p.m.
Middleton Place Restaurant Executive Chef Brandon Buck will create hors d’oeuvres with a Carolina Gold rice influence for the evening. In addition, Holy City Brewing will pour Dorchester Light, a rice lager brewed with Carolina Gold rice described as “a thirst quenching homage to local farming and brewing tradition.”
Limited edition Le Creuset “Gullah Blue” mini-cocottes, specially packaged with Jonathan Green artwork, will be available for purchase, as well as a “Carolina Gold Rice” Colonial Candle of which a portion of the proceeds go directly to the Lowcountry Rice Culture Project.
