Actors' Theatre of South Carolina presents "THE DAYPORCH" a hilarious Southern comedy with a Hitchcock twist, by award-winning SC playwright Ceille Baird Welch, directed by Broadway, film and TV veteran Clarence Felder, with a professional cast. Meet three of the toughest, craftiest, old broads this side of the Mason Dixon and their nurse as they entertain a gentleman caller. Set in the countryside of South Carolina, this play has delighted audiences in NYC and Charleston.

The playwright, Ceille Baird Welch hails from Moncks Corner, holds degrees in psychology and counseling from USC, and Dr. of Arts from Lander University. She spent 30 years counseling those with mental illnesses. Ms. Baird Welch has written for stage, television, newspaper, magazine, and literary journal and is a recipient of the Lucy Hampton Bostick Award. Ceille is profiled in Edwin Epps Literary South Carolina and listed on South Carolina's Literary Map as a dramatist. She and her husband, Jim Welch of Public Television's NatureScene, live in a log cabin in Western North Carolina.

ACTORS THEATRE OF SOUTH CAROLINA...is one of the few professional acting and film companies in our state, celebrating 20 years, including producing many new works written by South Carolinians. They've performed at Piccolo Spoleto Festival many years. ATSC's film division produced the action/adventure docu-drama feature, All For Liberty, about an extraordinary hero of the American Revolution in South Carolina. It's won nine international film awards, three national historical awards and was recently named "One of Top Ten Revolutionary War Movies" by the Journal of the American Revolution.
