Tactical Success and Strategic Failure: The British in South Carolina, 1780

As part of American Revolution Week, The Charleston Museum will host a lecture by Director Carl P. Borick, Tactical Success and Strategic Failure: The British in South Carolina, 1780. This lecture will begin at 6 pm and is FREE and open to the public.

About the Lecture:

The British won two of their most resounding victories of the Revolutionary War at Charleston and Camden in 1780. Despite these victories, they were still unable to subdue the rebellious patriots, and events in South Carolina ultimately contributed to their defeat at Yorktown the following year. Join Carl Borick, Director of The Charleston Museum, as he discusses whether the British could have ever succeeded in South Carolina.
