The Powder Magazine Museum, constructed in 1713, is the oldest public building in the Carolina. This historic building is offering historic presentations from 1 pm - 4 pm every Saturday in April and May. Admission is $5 for adults/ $ 2 for children.
April 16 - Piracy in Charlestown- Mike "Redcap" Coker regales audiences young and old with stories of Charleston during the Golden Age of Piracy. Hear about Stede Bonnet, Anne Bonny, and even Blackbeard himself. Fun for the whole family!
April 23 - Colonial Games- Try your hand at cards without numbers - or perhaps the whirligig, Jacob's ladder, rolling hoop, and cup & ball. Experience colonial pastimes with our period-dressed game masters! Children can take home a colonial craft. For the entire family!
April 30-Stolen Charleston! -Charleston Museum curator Grahame Long will present several intriguing early pieces of American weaponry. Long will also be available to sign his books "Dueling in Charleston" and "Stolen Charleston."
