Rush Hour Concert Featuring Ulyana Machneva

Charleston Academy of Music (CAM) faculty member Ulyana Machneva performs a solo recital in another Rush Hour Concert on Friday, March 11 from 6 to 7pm.
Machneva will perform a program titled "Travelling Through Time," a collection of music for the classical guitar including Dowland, Sor, Albeniz, Mertz, Piazzolla, Vinitsky, Dyens, Machneva, and others. CAM is excited to announce the new home of the Rush Hour Series, Spoleto Festival USA, The Murray Center, located at 14 George Street, Charleston. Admission is free but donations are greatly appreciated and allow CAM to provide student scholarships and produce events such as this one.
The Rush Hour Concerts showcase the talented faculty of CAM in an hour-long program. The series features monthly concerts and makes classical music more accessible to the community, perfect for all ages to attend in the early evening before heading home.

Ukrainian born guitarist Ulyana Machneva graduated from Kharkiv State University of Arts as a classical guitarist, teacher, and composer. Machneva has won high honors in a number of international performance and composition competitions in Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, and Hungary. Her melodious musical renditions have resounded in concert halls throughout Russia, Belgium, Romania, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Czech Republic, and America. In 2008, she became a winner of "The 10th Annual Columbus State University Guitar Competition and Symposium" (Columbus, Georgia), and the "Rosario Guitar Festival and Competition" (Columbia, South Carolina). Her original musical compositions have been published in Czech Republic, Ukraine, Belarus, and the USA. Many of them became performers' choice at the International guitar competitions.
