Marine Raider Memorial March

The Marine Raider Memorial March aims to honor the seven Marine Raiders who died March 10, 2015 when the UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter they were on crashed into the Santa Rosa Sound in Navarre, FL during a night training mission.

The four National Guardsmen who were piloting the aircraft also died. On March 11, 2016, fourteen Marine Raiders from Camp Lejeune, N.C. will ruck in a relay style march over the course of 11 days. Starting from the crash site in Navarre, FL, the men will be divided into seven two-man teams, with each team averaging 11 miles before the next team takes over. The Marine Raiders will cross from Florida into Georgia and South Carolina before ending at Courthouse Bay on Camp Lejeune, covering a little over 770-miles total.

We are organizing this event to honor Captain Stanford Shaw III, Master Sgt. Thomas Saunders, Staff Sgt. Marcus Bawol, Staff Sgt. Liam Flynn, Staff Sgt. Kerry Kemp, Staff Sgt. Trevor Blaylock, and Staff Sgt. Andrew Seif.
