2nd Annual Spring Jazz Jam

On Sunday, April 24th, from 4pm to 8pm at the Republic Garden & Lounge located downtown at 462 King St. in the upper King Street area of Charleston’s entertainment district, the 2nd Annual Spring Jazz Jam will showcase some of Charleston’s greatest jazz musicians including a special performance by Charleston’s own “Ambassador of Jazz” Mayor John Tecklenburg. Produced and co-hosted by Dennis Fassuliotis and Steve Simon, the 2nd Annual Spring Jazz Jam is a wonderful addition to our social network Club’s signature event, The Annual Charleston Jazz Jam, which is now in its seventh year.
The 2nd Annual Spring Jazz Jam is an unscripted, unrehearsed four-hour live jazz concert that is free to the public .
Legendary jazz clarinetist and band leader Steve Simon will emcee and Steve’s band, The Kings of Jazz, will start the show with Richard Harris White, on keyboards, Wayne Mitchum on bass, Markus Helander on drums, Simon Harding on saxophone and Steve Simon on clarinet.
Jazz legend and former Charleston County Council Chairman Lonnie Hamilton along with Charleston’s beloved jazz icons Oscar Rivers, Jr. and George Kenny will also be performing along with a rich blend of instrumental and vocal talents including Bobbie Storm, Duda Lucena, Bobby Alvarez, Leroy Smalls, Chris Williams, Joe Clark and Heather Rice, just to name a few.
