Yappy Hour at Wannamaker Dog Park

Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission (CCPRC) is happy to bring Yappy Hour back to North Charleston Wannamaker County Park from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 23 and Friday, May 7 at the park’s new dog park.

Yappy Hour will provide live music for pet owners from 5-7 p.m., while their pups explore the dog park and enjoy its amenities. Performer for April 23 is Gracie Trice. Performer for May 7 is The Honeymeads.

Beer, wine and Dasani water, will be available for purchase.

Yappy Hour is free with admission to Wannamaker County Park ($2 per person or free for Gold Pass holders). Food must be consumed outside of the dog park. Outside food and alcohol is prohibited. Yappy Hour will have a limited capacity per event. Masks are required in all indoor spaces, any outdoor spaces where 6-feet of social distancing is not possible or when interacting with our staff.

The new six-acre dog park offers large and small dog areas for off-leash play, the “Splash Paw” doggie spray play, a dog washing station, restrooms, benches, and shade structures.

Great spots for dogs to exercise and socialize, CCPRC operates three off-leash dog parks in Charleston County. Charleston County Parks encourages all dog owners to review the dog park rules as well as our suggestions for pet etiquette, or “petiquette,” before visiting a dog park.
