World Premiere of Snowblind

5th Wall Productions presents the world premiere of Snowblind, by Laura King.

In keeping with their mission of developing and producing new and challenging works, 5th Wall Productions is excited to present Snowblind, a new play from award-winning playwright Laura King.

Laura King is an award-winning playwright who resides south of Atlanta. She holds an MFA in playwriting from Hollins University and is an instructor of theatre at Gordon State College. Laura's plays are available at StageRights, YouthPLAYS, Polychoron Press, and the New Play Exchange. Laura is a proud member of the Dramatists Guild. She is also the recipient of the first annual Ready to Publish award, which is presented annually by Stage Rights and the Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC).

The Way It Is stars local actor and comedian DeShawn Mason, as well as local actors Margaret Nyland, David Moon, Emily Kautzer and, in his stage debut, Cameron White. Trapped in a community center basement as a snowstorm rages outside, a group of recovering addicts are forced to face their demons head-on, and the arrival of a cynical newcomer might be just what it takes to push them over the edge.

5th Wall's artistic director, Blair Cadden, remarks, "Snowblind is a fantastic script to work with. It has moments of beauty, tragedy, and hope mixed throughout. Laura has created an ensemble of vivid characters, and it has been an exhilarating experience to watch these five actors bring them to life for the very first time. While we may not all have experience with the specific journey of addiction and recovery, I believe we all can recognize the struggle to find something to believe in when life seems dark."

This is the world premiere for Snowblind. Others of Ms. King's plays have premiered at theatres in New Orleans, LA, Roanoke, VA, Atlanta, GA, and Knoxville, TN.

Snowblind will be presented at 5th Wall Studios, located in Citadel Mall (2070 Sam Rittenburg Blvd, across from Planet Fitness) from March 17-19 and 24-25. All performances are at 8:00 p.m. Tickets for the show are only $15-$20 and can be purchased in advance through www.5thwallproductions.org. Extensive free parking is available in the Citadel Mall lots.

This show contains adult subject matter and is recommended for mature audiences only.
