There are a variety of ways that we connect with nature. Marty Biernbaum, Valerie Lamott, and Susan Livingston each bring the viewer an artistic way to coexist with nature in ceramic, jewelry and mixed media. In her latest body of work, Marty Biernbaum utilizes a variety of hand-built ceramic forms as a canvas for her textural glaze scapes. Valerie Lamott masterfully captures the great outdoors in jewelry with intricate silver and gemstone work. A passion for being outdoors has informed Susan Livingston’s approach to her fiber and mixed media art practice. Each vision is its own microcosm in which she uses naturally hand dyed fabrics onto which she slow stitches found objects, patterns and lines to create abstract landscapes.
