Romance Abroad: An Exhibit by Craig Nelson

Artist Craig Nelson's show, Romance Abroad, will debut with an opening reception Friday November 4th from 5-8pm during Charleston Art Walk at Ella Walton Richardson Fine Art. Gallery goers can enjoy small bites and refreshments as they meet the artist.

Romance Abroad explores iconic monuments through a traveler's eye. Artworks meander through travel destinations, stopping to take in the intimate moments of another culture and lifestyle of a foreign place. Nelson's ability to capture light and perspective is breath taking. Even though the subjects are well known, Nelson's perspective reveals the heart of the destination.

Nelson currently serves as the Department Chairman of Fine Arts, Drawing, and Painting at the Academy of Art College in San Fransisco. He has been painting for over 30 years and and has a BFA with distinction from the Art Center College in California. Nelson has received multiple awards for his artwork including five gold medals from the Society of Illustrators in New York.

Craig Nelson will also be hosting an art demonstration Saturday, November 5 from 1-5pm at Ella Walton Richardson Fine Art.
