Chef Juan José Cuevas began his culinary career in 1995 at the Michelin three-star restaurant Hotel Akelarre in San Sebastián, Spain, and has since worked at other highly esteemed restaurants worldwide. In New York City, he earned a four-star rating from The New York Times, the publication's highest accolade. Today, Chef Cuevas returns to Puerto Rico as Executive Chef at 1919, the flagship restaurant at the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel.
Our team is thrilled to welcome him to Charleston to celebrate Puerto Rican cuisine.
