A new stage adaptation of LOVE JONES THE MUSICAL will play Thursday, October 13 at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center.

Based on the award winning Dramatic film directed and written by Theodore Witcher and Nominated for 7 Film Festival Awards, including Outstanding Motion Picture, LOVE JONES first released on January 17, 1997 at the Sundance Film Festival where it won the Black Film Award for Best Soundtrack. It is the contemporary romantic love story of a professional photographer named Nina and Darius, a poetic novelist set in the world of Chicago’s middle class black artists and professionals.

Theodore Witcher (the original screenwriter and director) will respectively serve as Director and Screenplay Writer. The musical stage production will star legendary hip-hop icon, media personality and business woman MC Lyte. She will be joined by the star-studded roster of R&B music favorites including, Musiq Soulchild, Chrisette Michelle, Marsha Ambrosius, Dave Hollister and Raheem DeVaughn.
