Root of Soul: J19th Fest is an annual, immersive, festival featuring music, food and art aimed at celebrating African American emancipation and culture. The event on June 11th will educate, uplift, and reaffirm pride in African American attendees while allowing its host, Grace Impact Development Center (GIDC), to create an economic engine to fund local nonprofits and initiatives empowering the Berkeley County and Greater Charleston community.
On June 18th, 2022, Juneteenth Family Fest will return to Charleston with a day-long celebration at Riverfront Park in North Charleston. The event, which is free and open to the community, will feature live performances, art, children’s activities, food, fireworks and more.
The Lowcountry Juneteenth Week celebration presents the legacy of this African-American experience to ethnically diverse audiences through education and entertainment all week. The week will kick off on June 13th and conclude with a large-scale festival featuring live performances, food trucks and more on June 19th.
