Join Drayton Hall for an Indigo Dyeing Class with CHI Design Indigo! Guests will learn the process and techniques for dyeing fabric with the historically significant plant inside the Lenhardt Garden in our Education Pavilion. During this workshop, guests will dye their own scarf! This unique hands-on workshop is on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 10am.
About Caroline Harper of CHI Design Indigo:
Caroline Harper launched CHI design indigo in 2014. Nature and Art & Crafts are her passions. That year, she traveled to Japan to learn about indigo and resist-dyeing to create stunning, timeless patterns with textiles. Harper returned to South Carolina with the idea of growing the local, historical and long-gone plant and began extracting the pigment for her own use and to sell kits to local dyers and artists.
