Harvest Hootenanny at South Windermere Center

On Saturday, November 19, the South Windermere Center in West Ashley will host a Harvest Hootenanny event from 2 to 8 p.m. The participating stores in South Windermere Center will each host special fall-themed tastings and snacks, product demonstrations or special sales during the six-hour event. Guests will have the opportunity to kick off their holiday shopping while enjoying an afternoon filled with activities.

The Harvest Hootenanny will feature live music throughout the day, including performances by local bands Deadwin, She Returns from War and Triangle Bluegrass. Food trucks La Morra pizzeria and Cooking Carolina Pit Bar-B-Que will be on-site from 6 to 8 p.m with food for purchase. The event will also feature a retrofitted Volkswagen photobus, vintage clothing finds from Red Rose Vintage and outdoor games such as corn hole.

Several stores will also serve as a drop off location for canned goods to be donated to the Lowcountry Food Bank. Guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable items to donate.

"We're excited to host this Harvest Hootenanny as a way to showcase many of the locally owned and operated businesses here at South Windermere," says Ric Sommons, president of the South Windermere Center Merchants' Association. "It's a great opportunity to get the family out for the afternoon and enjoy some games, music and shopping before the rush of the holidays."

The event will take place in the front parking lot of the center, in front of Earth Fare.
