Edmund's Oast Exchange Hosts Madeira School on March 30

Brandon Plyler of Edmund's Oast Exchange will host a Madeira School on Thursday, March 30 starting at 6:30 p.m. The class will explore the fascinating history of one of the oldest wines in the world from the origins of colonial shipping to the golden age of Madeira collecting. Plyler will discuss the legend of the islands and the grapes grown there as well as the fortifying and aging process that makes this drink so unique and age worthy. The class will present the scope of wines as daily drinkers, cooking applications, as well as cocktail additions. He will share a range of Madeira styles as well as their geographic identities in the United States. Attendees will also learn tips on how to serve and store these wines.
