The Junior League of Charleston invites the community to attend a festive evening celebrating the launch of its newest community imitative, The Junior League of Charleston Diaper Bank.
The event will be held on November 9 from 6:30-9:00 p.m. at Alhambra Hall in Mount Pleasant. Guests will enjoy a lively event featuring cocktails, light bites,and a live charity auction benefitting the community partners of the League.
The Junior League of Charleston Diaper Bank was started in 2017 as way to help mothers in the Lowcountry who are financially strained. Due to various restrictions, diapers are not funded by government-based assistance programs, such as WIC and SNAP. Without this financial assistance, many mothers are unable to afford and change their children's diapers as often as needed, which can then lead to health problems.
As a result, the Junior League of Charleston Diaper Bank was created to meet this overlooked need in the community. The Diaper Bank will collect, package, and work with partner organizations to distribute diapers to those in need throughout the Lowcountry.
