The award-winning Actors' Theatre of South Carolina premieres "Clarence Felder's American MACBETH" Oct. 24,25,26, 28, 31 at 7:30 pm and a matinee on Nov. 2 at 2:30 pm (Special Halloween Performance!)
It's 1699 on the Carolina Coast! Privateers hired to plunder Spanish ships for the British have become powerful pirates.
Starring David Loar and Sara Coy, and a supporting cast of professionals, this fresh new adaptation set in America is less than two hours. It will amaze you with the Bard's uncanny insight of deadly, blind ambition. Thrills and chills await you as you are engulfed in this wild cautionary tale!
Directed by nationally known Broadway, film and television actor/writer, Clarence Felder, and performed in the historic Circular Congregational Church, chartered in 1688. Produced by Chris Weatherhead with incidental live drums by Jerry DeLoach and costumes by Jean Hutchinson, it's the third in Actors' Theatre of South Carolina's "Shakespeare For All" series and funded in part by South Carolina Humanities and Gaylord & Dorothy Donnelley Foundation.
