Chucktown Brewdown: Homebrew Festival

James Island's only brewery, Fam's Brewing Co., is turning two this year and will be celebrating with the return of their annual homebrew competition and festival, Chucktown Brewdown, on Saturday, April 20, 2019, from 1pm-5pm.

This year over 30 Lowcountry homebrewers will bring their best IPAs to the festival and compete for the opportunity to work with the head brewer, Justin Famulari, to recreate their winning beer and have it placed on tap at the brewery among other prizes.

The judges will be: Justin Famulari (Fam's Brewing Co.), Ryan Coker (Revelry Brewing Co.), and Dustin Wilson (Dockery's)

Attendees will also get to help select which brewer will win the coveted People's Choice Award (not the grand prize).

There will also be live music and Fam's Brewing Co's 2nd-anniversary beer release.

Admission tickets to the festival for the public are:

$15 general admission gets you samples of all 30+ beers

$40 VIP gets you one-hour early admission, one slice of Famulari's pizza, 1 pint of Fam's Brewing Co. beer, an event t-shirt, and a souvenir tasting glass.

Day of sales is not guaranteed as they will be based on capacity.
