On Saturday, June 10, join The Charleston Museum and instructor Leaha Gathings for Calligraphy for Beginners, a workshop that will provide an introduction to pointed pen calligraphy. This class is perfect for anyone interested in pursuing the art of calligraphy! During these two hours, participants will become familiar with the basics of pointed pen calligraphy techniques. Have something of your own that you'd like to work on? Near the end of class, there will be time for students to practice on items from home- bring envelopes, a journal, etc!
No previous experience or artistic ability required. All participants will receive a starter kit to use during class and to take home for practice. The kit includes an oblique pen holder, 2 nibs, a jar of ink, an alphabet for practice, tracing paper, gridline practice paper, and detailed instructions on how to use all supplies.
