Beats of Brazil with Porto Seguro, Alva Anderson and Michael O'Brien

Embark on a musical journey to the vibrant streets of Brazil with Porto Seguro and guest artist, Michael O'Brien. O'Brien will add Brazilian folk percussion instruments to the mix including surdo (a batucada drum) and pandiero (Brazilian tambourine). Anderson's captivating and soulful voice is centerpiece that drive the group's heartfelt tribute to Brazilian music. The band is known for its impressive instrumentals and solid grooves, which perfectly complement their selection of Brazilian bossa nova, samba, choro, and MPB tunes. The band comprises Susan Conant on flute, John Holenko on mandolin, Tom Noren on guitar, John Kennedy on bass, and Bryce Waldron-Noren on drums. This program of terrific tunes will make your toes tap and your heart sing.

$20 suggested admission will be taken at the door. Cash, check or venmo preferred. Concert is approximately 1 hour at Gage Hall on Archdale Street in Charleston, SC.
