Bark in the Park has something for everyone including pet exhibits, experts, entertainment and more. The event runs from 12-4 p.m. on Sept. 23 at North Charleston Wannamaker County Park. Admission is $5 per person and Gold Pass Members and children 12 & under are free.
Dogs will get great exercise enjoying Wannamaker’s off-leash dog park while their owners enjoy live music from Sunflowers and Sin. Bark in the Park will also feature a pet parade (costumes are encouraged), contests, and Swift Paws lure chasing, which allows dogs the opportunity to run on a lure race course. Dog-related vendors, as well as several non-profit rescue groups, will also be on site throughout the event, so pet owners are encouraged to stop by to support these great organizations.
The event schedule is:
· 12 p.m.: Live music – Sunflowers and Sin
· 1 p.m.: Pet contests and pet parade
· 2 p.m.: Live music
· 3 p.m.: Pet contests
Food trucks will also be on site, and beverages will be available for purchase during the event. Pets at the festival will need to be leashed or restrained when not in the off-leash dog park area. Outside food, beverages and coolers are not permitted. A photo ID is required to purchase alcohol.
