Artisan Impact Gallery and Benefit Event
Event Details
ArtisanGlobal, Ill Vibe the Tribe and Straight to Art warmly invite you to ARTISAN, a one night impact gallery + benefit event. The evening will include an art gallery featuring over 30 premier artists from Charleston and Uganda, a silent auction of impact brands, a short film, art installations, a pop-up market of local / global artisan products, light hors d'oeuvres, cocktails and more! Visit www.artisanglobal.org/event to see all of the artists involved in the event.
We invite you to engage with the art, stories and artists featured on the night, and ask for your help in reaching our fundraising goal.
All proceeds, funds raised and art sold will go towards the construction costs of building the first multi-purpose Artisan Workspace in Gulu, Northern Uganda. The Artisan Workspace is a state-of-the-art space for impact, innovation and entrepreneurship. Once built, the Artisan Workspace will provide over 100 job opportunities for local Ugandans ranging from photography, fashion design and business to wellness, solar technology and nutrition. The land has been purchased, Workspace programs are in development and we are currently fundraising to begin construction in 2020.
Artisan Global is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that develops sustainable jobs, strategies and workspaces alongside international artisan businesses in post-conflict regions. We are working together with Ugandan businesses to elevate entrepreneurs and break cycles of extreme poverty. This vision is built on a core belief that through strong relationships and cross-cultural collaboration, we can create sustainable change together. Charleston artists, businesses, chefs, creatives and entrepreneurs have generously donated their time and talent to be a part of this Artisan Impact Gallery and Benefit Event. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase custom handmade local artwork and global artwork pieces from over 7,000 miles away, painted by brilliant Ugandan artists.
We look forward to seeing you there!
