A Journey to the International African American Museum

In conversation with Walk & Talk Founder, Tyler Wright Friedman, and local organizer, Marcus McDonald, join us on a journey to the International African American Museum through history and landmarks. This tour offers a sense of place through storytelling to enhance your IAAM experience. Discussions follow the legacy of Black liberation from chattel slavery, Reconstruction, Jim Crow, Civil Rights, Black Lives Matter movement, and living history. This framework will center the experiences of Charleston's African American community & the diaspora throughout several generations, setting guests up to better comprehend the museum's focus on the intersectionality of Black liberation and Black joy.

This tour will begin at The Charleston Place Hotel and end at The International African American Museum. Please note that this does not include admission to nor a tour within the IAAM.
